To those who are unaware of Peugeot's go-fast heritage, the 206 has always been a bit of a surprise and we're referring to the agility of the supermini here. And with the Frenchie being twenty years old now, the thing makes for excellent budget racing material.
As you can imagine, there are multiple amateur racers that take advantage of this, with the Peugeot 206 being used in competitions across the Old Continent. However, the said asset of the car and the fact that its front-wheel-drive shouldn't trick you into believing that racing one is a safe matter.

In fact, we're here to bring you and adventure that shows the opposite. This shenanigan took place earlier in the week, with the hostilities happening on the Circuit Zolder.

The Belgian track held the Westfield Cup and the Peugeot 206s in the race put on quite a show, unfortunately, one that involved a dramatic accident.

As you'll notice in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which documents the stunt, the race involved a three-car crash.

Interestingly, the 206 trio wasn't a close formation, as one might've expected. In fact, it all started with the driver of the first car losing the tail in what appears to be a lift-off oversteer moment. Sure, the one behind the wheel did countersteer, but it would've taken some throttle feeding to bring that posterior back in line.

The car that followed the one mentioned above saw its driver hesitating, which is never a good thing when you're racing. And while the first 206 was spinning, the second one ended up close to it, with no room to brake or go around the problem. And yes, the two collided.

As for the third vehicle, it's driver had braked early, as the racer slowed down when noticing the spin. Nevertheless, the aficionado failed to predict the trajectory of the two-in-one and perhaps wasn't willing to hit the gravel trap, as he only tried to avoid the crash by attempting to go on a tighter trajectory.

The said maneuver failed (not by much, though) and this is how we ended up with our Peugeot 206 sandwich.

The drivers were wearing protective gear and here's to hoping that none of them was injured in the accident.
