Person Involved in Jay Leno Lawsuit Commits Suicide

Just last week, American TV host and comedian Jay Leno, who is also one of the biggest car aficionados on the continent, was slapped with a lawsuit over some vehicles he had purchased some time ago. The vehicles were a Duesenberg, an old and rare American brand and a 30s Rolls Royce.

They were kept in a garage in Manhattan for over 25, since they belonged to an old Macy's heir who died in the meantime. The cars were auctioned off by the garage owners in order to allegedly help pay for parking fines that hadn't been paid for 25 years.

Now, one of the owners of the garage that also got slapped with a lawsuit by the descendant of the cars' owner. His name was Dennis Rica, he was 55 and he apparently killed himself over the incident. The event seems to have taken place on Friday according to the New York Post, when Ricca shot himself in the head with his own registered 9 mm pistol. He was sitting in his pickup truck that was parked outside his Greenwood Lake retreat in Orange County.

The event took place a day after the media reported on the now famous Jay Leno suit. A person in his entourage was quoted as declaring to the New York Post “That did it to him” at Ricca's wake, referring to the suit and the whole publicity it generated.

The papers filed at the Manhattan Supreme Court say that Ricca and other people at the head of the Garage Manage Corp. “knowingly participated in certain unlawful purported auctions and sales of” Straus' [the rightful owner] two cars.

This surprising turn comes in after Ricca showed he cared little for the suit as one of his neighbors declared “[Ricca] said he did everything on the up and up and that he even had the same lawyer as Jay Leno, so he wasn't worried”.
