Having completed the Nationwide season with honors, Paul Wolfe, the crew chief of Brad Keselowski in the Sprint Cup feeder series got a promotion from his bosses at Penske Racing and will be following his driver in the Sprint, as team No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge.
It was the same couple which managed to win the Nationwide Series year, after snatching six wins and five poles. The two also managed to achieve a record, after completing the season with 26 top-five results.
“It’s an honor to get the opportunity to be the crew chief of the Penske Racing No. 2 team,” said crew chief Paul Wolfe. “It’s been a fantastic 2010 season with Brad and the team and I’m excited about the challenge of moving up to the Cup Series next season and the opportunity to continue build on the legacy of the No. 2 car team with Brad behind the wheel.”
Wolfe himself started his career in motorsport racing as a driver in the Nationwide series. He managed to achieve six top-20 finishes in his 16 starts before becoming crew chief for Fitz Racing. His career with Penske only started in November last year, but he appears to have quite a connection with driver Keselowski.
“I’m excited for Paul and I look forward to continuing the momentum and success we had this season in the Nationwide Series,” added Keselowski. “We just seemed to click right from the beginning and we look to bring that same magic to the No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge team in 2011.”
