Paul Walker Earned $10.5 Million over the Past Year

Michael Jackson remains the 1st dead celebrity to top Forbes’ list, with Elvis Presley sitting next. Charles Schulz and Bob Marley follow in line, with Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe taking seats five and six, respectively. No, this is not an early Halloween prank; believe it or not, famous people make a lot of money even after their unfortunate death, and so do their producers.

Now that the seventh installment of the Fast and Furious franchise is getting closer and closer to the $2 billion mark throughout its worldwide box office, it’s safe to say it’s the most successful movie in the franchise. When some voices in showbiz said that producers in Hollywood should not take advantage of Paul Walker’s tragic death, everybody said it was, in fact, a tribute the filmmakers were paying to the regretted actor.

It's a tribute that makes serious money, as Forbes’ list of top-earning dead celebrities shows. According to the BBC, Walker earned $10.5 million over the past year and is in ninth place. Not that we’re trying to be mean in any way, but we can’t help wonder whether the actor’s deadly accident had anything to do with the success of the movie or Furious 7 would have been the same with him alive.

On the other hand, we find ourselves bound to also mention that the tragic event strongly saddened the entire Hollywood community. Vin Diesel has dedicated a good part of his public appearances to Paul Walker, whom he calls his brother. The late actor’s daughter, Meadow, may have sued Porsche once more, but she also launched a Foundation based on the loving memory of her father.

Then take Walker’s fellow actor Sung Kang, who recently said that he was inspired by the Fast and Furious star to chase his dream and finally buy and restore a Restomod Nissan 240Z he wished for ever since he was a teenager. And we haven’t mentioned yet all the beautiful tributes fans have paid and are still paying online.
