Sure, most of these were minor roles, it was only the starting of the Fast and Furious franchise through which the actor would gain prominence. After reprising his part in five of the next six installments, a tragical and unexpected car accident shocked both his fellow actors and worldwide fans.
Even though producers in Hollywood used his name and his fame to promote the franchise, Paul Walker was a lot more than just a person of showbiz. He founded the Charity “Reach Out Worldwide” (ROWW), an organization providing relief efforts for areas affected by natural disasters.
As a matter of fact, according to his 16-year-old daughter, he was a great philanthropist having been involved in all sorts of environmentalist actions. “His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill,” are some of the reasons Meadow Walker has decided to launch the Paul Walker Foundation, an organization that will carry out her father’s legacy.
According to the organization’s website, one of the ways the Foundation will empower future generations is by providing grants and scholarships to selected students and researchers pursuing marine science educations or working on advancements in the field. One of the goals is to leave people better educated and better equipped to deal with the challenges of tomorrow.
