Paul Tracy to Make IndyCar Return

Paul Tracy's vacation outside the IndyCar Series might be over soon. Only days after signing Mario Moraes for the upcoming season, KV Racing are considering a job offer for the former Forsythe driver. Team's co-owner Jimmy Vasser insisted that Tracy would be a valuable asset for his team and revealed that he is already looking for sponsorship for a second KV Racing entry for the Canadian veteran.

“We're trying to run down some stuff up in Canada and I think Paul has a couple of possibilities in the States but he needed a team to work with him so that's what I'm doing. What I love about PT is that he's still got the fire to go for it and I think we all saw last year at Edmonton that he's still got a few good years left in him,” said Vasser.

Tracy's only appearance in the IndyCar last season happened in Edmonton, when doing a one-off for Walker Racing. He qualified 16th on the grid but managed to recover impressively in the race, eventually crossing the finish line in 4th place.

With the IndyCar Series expected to add another Canadian event to its current schedule – Toronto street course – Vasser believes Tracy's comeback to the series could also boost fans' interest in Canada and, consequently, benefit the series.

“PT is exciting, he sells tickets, he gets a lot of press and the league needs him - especially with two races in Canada. If I could get close (to the budget) then I'd go to the IRL and ask for some help because I think they need a guy with his stature and personality,” added Vasser.

The IndyCar Series have only one Canadian driver present on this year's roster, 36-year old driver Alex Tagliani (Conquest Racing).
