Parrot RKi8400 iPhone Car Stereo Now Available

A new device destined to continue Parrot’s development of hands-free Bluetooth communication systems has just been launched at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Dubbed RKi8400, the new product launched by the renowned developer of wireless peripherals for mobile phone, is a car stereo system for both the iPhone and the iPod, for the moment only available in the United States.

"Music lovers demand design, sound quality and convenience and the RKi8400 provides that and more in a single product," Kelly Zachos, director of marketing North America for Parrot. "Parrot's renowned voice recognition capabilities and sound quality provide the ultimate listening and hands-free communications experience."

Parrot RKi8400 is an FM/AM RDS car stereo that features multiple connections for digital music and advanced hands-free telephony functions, designed with a storage compartment behind the removable front panel. According to Parrot, this compartment is ideal for protecting and recharging an iPhone or iPod.

The new car stereo is apparently quite user-friendly, being fitted with a large dial and full-color screen which enables users to view album covers stored in the iPhone playlists. When the phone rings, the system automatically switches to hands-free mode. The radio features training-free voice recognition with speech synthesis automatic synchronization with the phonebook when a phone is paired with the radio.

Furthermore, the RKi8400 also includes a USB port for portable hard drive or USB key, an SD card reader and a double line-in socket for analog sources. The unit also comprises a 200-watt amplifier. And, just like all Parrot systems, this too is compatible with all Bluetooth mobile phone brands available on the market.
