The Pagani hype isn’t what it used to be. There, we said it! The god of wind doesn’t look or sound as exciting as the Zonda. There are no videos of it on the track, and no bombastic car reviews to make us think it’s the king of the supercars.
On paper, the Huayra sound like a great thing. It’s got wings on the front hood, a twin-turbo AMG-tuned engine with upwards of 700 horsepower and is better built than the track-worthy predecessor. But it doesn’t capture the imagination in the same way the Zonda did.
Perhaps this is what the Huayra needs, one less panel. If the company doesn’t go under, Pagani will surely bring a convertible version of the Huayra to market. However, that won’t happen any time soon, so in the meantime, how about checking out these renderings created by Italian design student Aldo Maria Sica.
The renderings are excellent, but the basis of the design, the Huayra itself, is lacking power and dynamism. You know what they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but there aren’t many ‘beholders” of this supercar.
