Old Citroen DS Is a Space Ship

You may be tired of us ranting on about how cars looked better in the 1960s, or how a quirky and utterly French manufacturer, like Citroen has now all-but-forgotten its core brand values, in search of profits - they should still build proper Citroens.
Back in the late 1950s, when the Citroen ID, and later the DS came onto the scene, people were simply astonished that, let’s face it, just a few years after the war, France, a country which had suffered a great deal because of Hitler’s expansionist ideals, was now capable of building what at the time was easily the most technologically advanced car in the world.

It is therefor a pity that Citroens today are no longer presented as ‘space ships’, like the one in this early 1960s brochure, having been transformed over the years into a Germanic-French-ish Volkswagen-ish kind of thing, along with Peugeot and Renault, a company which now outsources a big chunk of its business to China. It would appear that Hitler did, in fact, win - at least in this respect!
