Toyota of America is gearing up for a spectacular mid-fall season on the presentation catwalk - it has already confirmed two new models for their official debut on November 14.
The company is no stranger to multiple introductions at once – not long ago, we saw the all-new Lexus GX off-road SUV and the first-ever Lexus TX three-row family crossover SUV arrive together. Now, a new double ensemble is ready for primetime in the United States: the Toyota Crown SUV and latest Camry will arrive November 14 at 10 PM ET on the eve of the Los Angeles Auto Show (November 17-26).

Toyota had a hectic year in 2023 and shows no signs of stopping. In recent weeks, we saw the company at home ready to hit the EV motherload at the inaugural edition of the Japan Mobility Show, formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show, for the past seven decades. Next, they were also on point at the 2023 SEMA Show with a major focus on off-road and street truck capabilities thanks to specialty builds like the Retro Cruiser and FJ Bruiser, as well as the marvelous 421-hp 3.4-liter V6-swapped Tacoma X-Runner concept.

Now, though, it's probably time for a more general approach to the event in California. And while we don't have all the details and juicy technical specifications, it seems the two models they are about to show are connected at a deeper level than imagined. Everything started on October 19 when Toyota showed a shadowy figure on social media featuring an LED treatment resembling the one on the Prius 'Hybrid Reborn.'

Naturally, everyone and their mother assumed this was the inaugural teaser for the ninth global iteration (XV80) of the popular Toyota Camry – the fifth best-selling vehicle in the United States last year. However, things got a little murky because a few days later, the Japanese automaker also launched the official preview campaign for the second Crown body style – the Crown SUV.

Luckily, everything is crystal clear now – both are coming out in the open on November 14, ahead of their most likely public debut at the 2023 LA Auto Show. Toyota ousted two more teasers just recently – one for the Crown SUV and now another for the next-generation Camry. Now that we have official confirmation that both are coming out simultaneously, it's also pretty obvious why they share the spotlight – the company also teases a HEV AWD powertrain, a first for the Camry.

Most likely, the setup is already known – while the LED DRLs on the Camry suggest it will feature a design inspired by the Prius, the underpinnings and probably also the interior will be much closer to what the Crown model offers in America. The 2024 Crown, starting at $40,050, has a standard eAWD system and a combined output of 236 ponies from the electrified 2.5-liter four-cylinder – and that's probably going inside the fresh Crown SUV and all-new Camry, too.
