Usually when an electric or car is launched, the first customers are usually the wants who are most eager to make a green statement. This is either celebrities, companies or public institutions.
This time, the Police Service of Northern Ireland have adopted the Vauxhall Ampera extended range EV in an effort to see if it will make a good patrol car. If the tests are successful, it will be used as a squad car and save them lots of money on gas and, of course, reduce pollution.

This single Ampera will be used in Belfast, as an incident response vehicle. The 2012 European Car of the Year won't be alone in its quest for efficiency, as it will be helped by a well developed EV charging network.

“We’re looking forward to putting the revolutionary Ampera through its paces responding to incidents while also reducing our emissions and providing significant savings on fuel costs,” said Marcus Belshaw, Head of Transport for PSNI.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
