Nissan has unveiled the European version of the Note, a car which is scheduled to debut at the next month's Geneva Motor Show.
Designed to compete against the "more conventional rivals with a very different proposal", the Note is presented by Nissan as a hatchback, but we'd say it fits more in the MPV class. Or the slightly smaller MPV class… Or the we-don't-really-understand-Japanese-stuff class to make things a little bit easier…
For those living in Europe who want one of these hatchbacky MPVs, the entry level Note will hit the market with a 1.2-liter gasoline engine producing 80 HP and offering a fuel economy of 4.7 liters / 100 km (50 mpg US). The 1.2-liter DIG-S is rated and 98 HP and 4.3 liters / 100 km (55 mpg US), while the 1.5-liter turbodiesel take 90 HP to the ground and has the best fuel economy, 3.6 liters / 100 km (65 mpg US).
The Japanese automaker also promises an advanced Safety Shield pack that includes Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Moving Object Detection.
Production of the new Note will start in Q3 2013, with first deliveries scheduled for autumn depending on specific markets.
