The Nissan Skyline NISMO drops as one exclusive sports car that the carmaker simply calls "an elite sports sedan." Only 1,000 such models will be made and all of them will be for the Japanese market. The Skyline Nismo Limited will only be built in 100 examples.
The all-new Nissan Skyline NISMO is a Japan-only affair. At least for the moment. To send this new version to the road, Nissan reworked the suspension in order to reduce roll, mounted 19-inch Enkei aluminum wheels that are lighter and wider than those on other Skylines and are shod in high-performance tires, upgraded the braking system, and revised the ABS.

The car comes, as expected, with some extra oomph. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 sports the exact same figures as the Z version. It develops 414 horsepower (420 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque.

Sport and Sport+ driving modes are on board, in the company of the Standard mode, just like in the Z NISMO version and are there to change the engine response as well as the shifting times of the seven-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately for the enthusiasts, the six-speed manual gearbox is not available with the Skyline NISMO either.

Nissan put the Skyline through a minor plastic surgery and fitted it with a NISMO-specific body kit that brought along slightly redesigned front fascia, new front, and rear bumpers, as well as new side sills covers with distinctive red accents, plus the Nismo badging every here and there.

Recaro front seats, the same as in the NISMO Z, and NISMO exclusive rear seats are on board, as well as carbon fiber trim. The steering wheel sports the NISMO red center mark and is leather-wrapped, while the NISMO metal emblem also shows up on the center console that is engraved with a serial number, which is there to prove the limited production run.

The 280 kph (176 mph) speedometer and the red-ringed tachometer highlight the fact that we're dealing with a performance model.

Customers can choose one of the five body colors that Nissan offers, with the exclusive NISMO Stealth Gray included.

The Skyline Nismo will launch in September. Two trim levels will be available. Of the 1,000 units that Nissan plans to build, 900 of them will be standard and will be ready for order starting in September.

Meanwhile, 100 of them will be Skyline Nismo Limited versions. The latter is a tribute to the S54A-1 Skyline GT from 1964 and will hit the market in the summer of 2024, with an engine that is individually assembled at the company’s plant in Yokohama.

Prices for the new Nissan Skyline NISMO start at 7,880,400 yen, which translates into $55,075. The NISMO Limited kicks off at 9,479,800 yen, which would be around $66,255.
