Nissan Qashqai+2 for Britain’s Coolest Dad

Since UK is Nissan’s second biggest market in Europe, the Japanese automaker thought of creating a microsite showcasing the Qashqai+2’s search for Britain’s Coolest Dad, with the help of Sky Motoring.

The dedicated microsite will host three specially created short video clips, featuring a selection of ‘Dads’ prompting users to take part and nominate Britain’s Coolest Dad.

The competition starts on Monday, August 10, 2009, offering the Qashqai+2 as a top prize for the winning father. Until Britain’s Coolest Dad closes on October 10, 2009, those who visit the site can upload images and nominations for the title, then vote on entries received on the site.

The winner and his family will get the 7-seater crossover vehicle and start an adventure around Barcelona, which will be filmed and footage will be shown on the site during the last week of the campaign.

“For many families the Qashqai+2 is the perfect tool. We’re delighted to be able to work with Sky in promoting such a great competition and look forward to seeking out the country’s super-Dads!” said Nissan’s UK Managing Director, Paul Willcox, in a statement for the press.

Available from £15,600 ($26,030), the seven-seater Qashqai+2 is built alongside the five-seat Qashqai at Nissan’s Sunderland plant.

The car comes in 2.0-liter diesel or petrol choices, CVT gearbox option for the petrol, FWD standard and ALL-MODE 4WD. Other features include Bluetooth connectivity, a CD music system, air conditioning and six airbags. Equipment levels increase with the three model trim levels of Visia, Acenta and Tekna.
