Introduced in April 2014 at the New York Auto Show, the third generation of the Murano enters the 2019 model year with numerous newities. The mid-cycle refresh starts with the V-Motion grille, redesigned along with the LED headlights, taillights, and fog lights.
New 18- and 20-inch wheels are also on offer, along with three new exterior colors: Deep Blue Pearl, Mocha Almond Pearl, and Sunset Drift Chromaflair. Scheduled to reach U.S. showrooms in December 2019, the facelifted Murano also brings enhancements to the cabin.
Leather upholstery, diamond quilting, micro-piping, and three new trim options are on offer, starting with Dark Wood Tone for the Platinum. Lesser models (S, SV, and SL) are treated to Light Wood Tone and Metallic, and as standard, every Murano in the lineup boasts Intelligent Driver Alertness and Rear Door Alert.
As far as the driver is concerned, Nissan Safety Shield 360 combines six active safety features and driver-assist technologies. These are Rear Automatic Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and High Beam Assist.
For the 2019 model year, the 8.0-inch NissanConnect touchscreen infotainment system that comes standard on every grade includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. The SL and above trim levels add navigation with 3D building graphics and satellite imagery.
As ever, propulsion comes courtesy of a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 connected to the Xtronic CVT. The engine is capable of churning out 260 horsepower on full song, be it the front- or all-wheel-drive configuration.
