Nissan Juke-R Gets GT-R Gearbox and Drivetrain

We’re getting pretty close to the moment when Nissan does a full reveal of the Juke that’s infused with a severe overdose of muscle enhancers in the form of the GT-R engine and mechanical components. The automaker has just released the fifth video in the series detailing how this was made, and this time they talk about the magic of fitting a square block into a round hole.
The drivetrain and gearbox assembly was quite the challenge for the engineers. They first measured the difference between the wheelbases of the two cars based on the manufacturer’s schematics than double-checked in real life.

The end result is that the prop shafts had to be sorter fro the Juke-R than they are in the GT-R. The magicians also ensured the feeling of changing gear remains the same, despite the mods.

It’s not easy turning a child’s dream into reality, is it?!
