After introducing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on select Navara models in July 2019, Nissan of Australia is much obliged to level up the lineup with a special edition of the mid-size pickup truck. The Navara N-TREK is based off the Navara ST-X trim level, the highest specification available.
Exclusively offered with a dual cab, the special edition is offered with either a manual gearbox or seven-speed automatic transmission. Black parts from the genuine catalog set the Navara N-TREK apart from other models, along with the tailgate badge, orange inserts, and orange stitching.

“A majority of ute buyers are prepared to invest in the look of their vehicle, to get the vehicle they really want,” declared Stephen Lester. “Our black editions have always been popular with buyers,” concluded the managing director of the automaker’s Australian operations.

Coming as standard with four-wheel drive, the Navara N-TREK is complemented by a twin-turbo diesel with 2.3 liters of displacement, 140 kW of suck-squeeze-bang-blow, and 450 Nm for a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kilograms. In other words, this truck is both show and go.

Bluetooth handsfree phone and audio connectivity, dual-zone climate control, Intelligent Key, and satellite navigation are included, along with the maximum safety rating from ANCAP. The 360-degree Around View Monitor is joined by Vehicle Dynamics Control, the Brake Limited Slip Differential, Active Brake Limited Slip, and seven airbags.

Even though it’s not selling as well as the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger, the Navara is covered by a factory warranty with unlimited mileage over five years of ownership. Pricing for the N-TREK special edition starts at $56,450 for the manual and $58,950 for the automatic, and three exterior colors are offered (White Diamond, Slate Grey, Cosmic Black).

As mentioned in the first paragraph, the Alliance In-Vehicle Infotainment or AVI infotainment system features an 8.0-inch touchscreen and all the bells and whistles you’d expect. On the other hand, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mirroring is done through the USB cable. If you were wondering, wireless dongles are available on Amazon for not that much money.
