Nissan Fairlady Z Roadster Wins the 2010 Auto Color Award

Japanese carmaker Nissan today announced that its Fairlady Z Roadster won the Grand Prix at the 2010 Auto Color Award, organized by the Japan Fashion Association - Japan Fashion Color Authority(JAFCA). The model in question is finished in Premium Deep Maroon as its exterior color and Bordeaux as the interior one. The carmaker says that it has won the Auto Color Award five times previously, out of the total 12 editions.

The Fairlady Z Roadster also won the Best Exterior Award in Auto Color Designer Selection, while the new Fuga luxury sedan (Exterior color: Deep Bronze, Interior color: Brown) released last month was also chosen for the Best Technology Award.

“Premium Deep Maroon, is the perfect color that captures the elegance and sophistication of the Fairlady Z roadster. The rich dark color looks equally great in the day and evenings, lending a versatile mood and mystique to the car. Maroon has long been a color associated with the Fairlady Z from the first generation 240ZG introduced,” a company statement reads. “Bordeaux, like its wine namesake, the interior color perfectly compliments the car's exterior skin, creating a lush feeling of comfort and luxury interior.

"The original color used in the first-generation Fairlady Z has been well evolved into a modern style,"
the Jury commented. "It's an attractive color, which a car owner can get attached to."

Earlier this year, Nissan’s Fairlady Z model has won the Most Fun Award at the Car of the Year Japan 2009-2010, during a special exhibition which celebrated the event’s 30th anniversary. According to Nissan, this is the second time the Fairlady Z series has own the Car of the Year Japan’s Most Fun Award since 2002.
