Nissan Fairlady Z Awarded Most Fun Car in Japan

Japanese manufacturer Nissan announced today that its Fairlady Z model has won the Most Fun Award at the Car of the Year Japan 2009-2010, duriing a special exhibition which celebrated the event’s 30th anniversary. According to Nissan, this is the second time the Fairlady Z series has own the Car of the Year Japan’s Most Fun Award since 2002-2003.

In fact, the model itself is celebrating 40 years since the original Fairlady Z debuted. In order to mark its 40th anniversary, Nissan launched a limited edition of the model, that will only be available at Japan dealerships for only one year following the release date.

The 40th Anniversary Edition is based on the Version ST (6MT/7AT) and will be available in Metal Gray (special for this limited edition), Premium Deep Maroon, Brilliant White Pearl, Brade Silver, Diamond Black and Vibrant Red paint schemes.

Pricing of the Fairlady Z 40th Anniversary model in Japan (including consumption tax), is 4,588,500 yen for the 7M-ATx and 4,483,500 yen for the 6MT, which means about 34,000 Euros and 33,400 Euros respectively.

Fairlady Z 40th Anniversary Edition complete special equipment list, as released by Nissan:

  • Real Leather/Suede-like Fabric Combination Seat specifically made for the 40th Anniversary model & Door trim (color: red)
  • Memorial engraving on the seat back. (”40th Anniversary”)
  • Real leather-covered steering (with red stitches)

  • Console boot (with red stitches)
  • Instrument panel upper box (with red stitches)
  • Kneepads in the driver and passenger seats (with red stitches)
  • Special emblem (in the rear) for the 40th Anniversary model
  • RAYS special aluminum forging wheels for the 40th Anniversary model (dark chrome color coating)
  • Special SPORT Brake Calliper for the 40th Anniversary model. (color: red)
