Today is Thanksgiving Day, so after all the important things in our lives we have to be thankful for, don’t forget to save your last grace for the guys at Hoonigan and Nissan for this awesome clip.
Like all warm-blooded Americans, they too went to the mall to celebrate the one day of the year dedicated to spending, only they forgot to bring any money. Not a problem, since the mall they chose also forgot to announce them it has been a ruin for the past few years, so the exchange was even.

You’ve probably heard of Hoonigan before, and it most likely was in connection with Ken Block, his Hoonicorn or his more recent Ford Escort Mk2 RS. This may come as a shock, but there’s more to Hoonigan than their association with the drift-master. They have other projects as well.

This particular one sees them join hands with Nissan and raid the abandoned Hawthorne Mall near Los Angeles with two 1,000 hp Nissan 370Z cars. And since keeping such an experience to themselves would have been selfish, they invited the guys behind the Gymkhana and Recoil videos along to document the whole thing.

Since Ken Block is stuck with Ford and black cars, these two Nissans had to be driven by somebody else. No problem, there are other people out there who know how to drift. People like two-time Formula Drift Champion Chris Frosberg and Ryan Tuerck.

Did we mention this was a 360-degree video? We should have, because it amplifies the sensation and pulls you in just like Google Street View does. Just kidding, it’s a lot better than that. Take the opening shot, for example, where Chris Forsberg had to drift on a concrete ledge covered in dust above a 30-foot drop.

After we get to see from an external point of view, we’re then taken to a camera placed on the car’s rear right panel from where the drop becomes a lot more real. You can play around with the angles all you want, so make sure to put aside at least ten minutes for this 149-second long video. And also make sure to check out the gorgeous photo gallery below.
