Ninja 250 Double Yellow Line Crash

All is well when it ends well, they say. Or at least as good as possible, if crashing your Kawasaki Ninja 250 into a car can be described as something good. However, considering that a bike crash can end up with severe injuries and so much worse, a thrashed bike and some neck pain for a couple of days, this story had indeed a good ending.
Riding a bike already requires being very aware of the traffic, since a lot of car drivers have certain difficulties getting along with anything smaller than they are. And when the biker also makes illegal moves, a crash is rather a question of “when and how hard?” and not an “if” one.

The guy in this movie was riding his Kawasaki Ninja 250 and happened to ride it bit on the heavy hand side, as himself declares he was doing 60 mph (96 km/h). Now, we all do some passing the double yellow lines every once in a while, but his luck run out this time.

The cars in the front stopped for an (illegal) turn, so the result was inevitable: he managed to slow down to 20 mph (32 km/h) and then rear-ended the car. There was no incoming traffic so passing the car on the left could have been a solution... but at the high risk of running directly into the side of the vehicle, with potentially more ill consequences. The double yellow lines are there for some reason, aren't they after all?
