KAWASAKI Z400 ABS (2018-Present) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Kawasaki Z400 was a standard motorcycle in the Z series, unveiled at the 2018 EICMA Motor Show in Milan, Italy, and introduced by the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer as a successor to the Z300 model. The bike took its thrust from a 399cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine derived from the Ninja Z400 sports bike.

The bike was a new entry-lightweight super naked machine with a competitive spirit and a small displacement engine derived from the Ninja Z400 sports bike, which turned into a real head-turner with its compact chassis and aggressive styling.

The 2019 Z400 model featured an aggressive Z model Sugomi styling, a relaxed upright seating position with an easy reach to the ground, a powerful 399cc engine, a lightweight trellis frame that offered easy maneuverability and capability, and excellent riding comfort.

In the performance department, the 2019 Kawasaki Z400 ABS took its thrust from a 399cc four-stroke parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 45 hp with a peak at 10,000 rpm and 38 Nm (28 lb-ft) of torque available at 8,000 rpm.

For suspension, the bike packed a 41 mm telescopic fork on the front with 120 mm of wheel travel and a bottom-link Uni-Trak gas-charged preload adjustable shock absorber on the rear with 130 mm of wheel travel.

As for braking performance, the Z400 model packed a 310 mm semi-floating petal disc with a dual-piston caliper on the front and a 220 mm petal disc squeezed by a two-piston caliper on the rear.
