New Volvo Trucks Center Opens in Slovakia

Following the inauguration of the new facility in Presov in late 2010, Volvo Trucks in Slovakia has inaugurated a new Volvo Truck Center in the Zilina area. The new premises provide customers with a full range of products and services including new and used trucks, genuine Volvo service and parts, all offered under the total business solutions concept.

"The new Volvo facility is situated alongside the major transport corridors to Poland and Ukraine and with such a strategic location there is great potential to serve not only the transporters in each respective region but also transit traffic travelling to neighbouring countries,"
stated Johannes Kjellgren, Managing Director of Volvo Truck Slovak.

The Volvo Truck Center in Zilina is a completely new facility wholly owned by Volvo and was designed and built in accordance with Volvo standards as regards its equipment, environmental care and requirements for serving specific Volvo needs. It is built on a site covering 20 hectares and the building itself has 1350 sqm of space, out of which 550 square metres belong to the 3-bay workshop area with the possibility of further extension.

"This is another important step forward in our continuous development. We hope it will help us to strengthen our position and our offer in Slovakia even further,"
said Tom Jorning, Managing Director of Region Central-East in the European Division of Volvo Trucks.

Today the network of Volvo Truck Centers in Slovakia consists of four modern facilities located at strategic points in various parts of the country.

"The region of Eastern Slovakia is very important for our company, not only because of the large number of customers here but also due to the fact that this area is a frequently used transport corridor," Kjellgren added.
