We’ve loved the little Suzuki Swift Sport ever since the previous generation shook its two exhaust tips at us and provided pure FWD fun. With the arrival of a new generation this year, we just had to check out how the model faired on the road and in the city.
The first impressions given off by this video debut are of a fun-to-drive car with plenty of character and more appeal in the city.
As with the old generation, power comes from a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated straight-four with 135 hp and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. Despite this, Suzuki says the unit is also more frugal, burning 6.4 liter per 100 km (36.7 mph), while emissions now sit at 147 grams per km.
This isn’t a car for the history books, but for this kind of money, you probably can’t have more fun. But take our word for it, you don’t want to take it anywhere near a cobbled road like in the video!
