Porsche is getting ready to set new standards in both fuel efficiency and dynamics. Their latest generation of the 911 Turbo, built around the Type 991 chassis, is lighter, faster, more advanced and even more frugal.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Turbo model and Porsche is now presenting the new generation 911 Turbo and Turbo S, but the convertible has always been an integral part of the formula. Until the German automaker actually reveals this as well, these renderings by Theophilus Chin will to do.
The desirable sports convertible will have the same reworked 3.8-liter six-cylidner engine delivering 530 hp in the Turbo and maybe even 560 for the Turbo S model. Power is transferred to the drivetrain via the seven-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK).
The new drop-top super-Porsche will face sitff competition from the reworked R8 V10 Spyder.
