Ever since it arrived on American shores in September 2013, the latest generation of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class returned to its proper place when it comes to luxury car sales around the United States.
In fact, there is no other luxury sedan on the planet that even comes close to the sales numbers of the Sonder Klasse (Special Class in German), and this has been an absolute truth for pretty much any generation of the model.
With that being said, it is maybe worth looking into what makes the flagship sedan in the Mercedes-Benz lineup so desirable, and it seems that customer satisfaction with the model is among the most important reasons.
The latest example to reinforce this comes from AutoPacific, who recently released their latest annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA), an event which tries to identify the most satisfying vehicles on the market.
Not exactly surprising, the current Mercedes-Benz S-Class not only registered the highest overall satisfaction score, but also won AutoPacific's second President Award for achieving the highest VSA score in the history of the awards, which celebrated their 18th birthday yesterday.
The S-Class W222 was also the most satisfying car in the Premium Luxury Car segment, while the Mercedes-Benz CLA received the highest score in the Premium Compact Car segment.
“Vehicles that score highest in the Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are delivering value and satisfaction across a wide range of attributes,” says George Peterson, president of AutoPacific. “The winners perform well in 50 separate categories that objectively measure the ownership experience.”
AutoPacific's VSA scores are based on the results of responses from over 92,000 new vehicle owners, which had to answer questions about 50 separate attributes that range from interior comfort and convenience to fuel fuel economy and performance.
