McLaren has revealed a fresh and very mysterious teaser video called “McLaren vs Aerodynamics - The Next Chapter”. It’s reasonable to believe that it’s the new supercar they’re working on, the spiritual successor to the F1.
Various reports have said that it will be called either the P12 or the P1, the latter being a way to remind us of the F1. Reports from people who saw the prototype say it’s as futuristic as a flying saucer, and indeed judging by this video it really is.

We watched the teaser quite a few times, and believe the car to be shown in Paris will have a short bubble-shaped cockpit, placed further forward than on an MP4-12C. Think of it as a Pagani Zonda with a Mclaren nose.

The concept in Paris will be powered by a tuned version of the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 in the MP4-12C. We don’t have exact power rating yet, but rumors suggest it could be as much as 900 hp in combination with a KERS hybrid system.

autoevolution will be attending the Paris Motor Show 2012, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
