Kia has now earned its fourth IF design award in three years so they must have done something right with the sportier version of the new Picanto three-door. The award not only recognizes the merits of the little city car, but also the design quality and eco-friendlyness of the vehicle.
“Receiving the iF product design award for the new Kia Picanto is a great success for our design team and it is welcome recognition of our brand’s design-oriented strategy,” said Kia’s Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer. “The second generation Picanto displays a very purposeful, self-assured design, and its sportiness is particularly underscored by the three-door version.”
It’s expected that 45 percent of Kia Picanto sales will be the three-door version, so it’s important that it’s well received. Besides the looks, it also comes with a seven-year/100,000 mile, and can be specified with optional automatic stop-start ISG system, which reduces CO2 emissions to as little as 95 g/km.
