Detour has just launched the new Jetour Traveller limited-edition model, which comes with a bombastic name,  Land Rover Defender vibes, and a single powertrain option.
The SUV is called Silver Dragon Wing and will only be available for 3,000 customers. The limited-run model is the first under the JMK (Jetour Makers Kingdom) sub-brand, which focuses on custom-made vehicles, making them wilder and more interesting.

The JMK division will be following the 'make-to-order' principle, showing a high level of customization. Those who order a vehicle from them will have to wait less than three months, they promise. Each will start at 219,900 yuan, which translates to $30,973.

The money brings a very rugged SUV based on the Jetour Traveller. It measures 188.2 inches (4,782 millimeters) in length, 80.1 inches (2,036 millimeters) in width, and 77.1 inches (1,960 millimeters) in height, sporting a wheelbase of 110.2 inches (2,800 millimeters).

Enhancing its off-roader credentials are the 24-degree approach angle and the 28-degree departure angle. That is all because of the redesigned bumpers both front and rear. There is an integrated bull bar at the front, while JMK extended the wheel arches to make room for the larger wheels and tires.

An LED bar showed up in the radiator grille. That faux air scoop almost tricked us into believing that we’re dealing with a ventilated hood.

To confirm that it is ready to leave civilization behind and venture into the wild, it comes with a multi-functional storage platform installed on the roof. There are also two customized storage containers on each side between the C and D pillars, plus a foldable ladder.

Protective grilles made of resin cover the taillights while the spare wheel case is mounted on the trunk door, similar to what the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-Benz G-Class come with. The vehicle rides on 20-inch wheels with 255/55 R20 all-terrain off-road tires.

As rugged as the exterior is, the cabin displays a high-tech atmosphere. A large four-spoke steering wheel is in front of the digital instrument cluster. Meanwhile, the touchscreen located above the center console comes with a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip that supports over-the-air (OTA) updates.

The Jetour Traveller Silver Dragon Wing is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The engine delivers 251 horsepower (254 metric horsepower) and 288 pound-feet (390 Newton meters) of torque in an all-wheel drive XWD fully automatic intelligent all-wheel drive setup. The XWD, carried over from the Chery brand's models, is capable of automatically distributing torque to the rear axle, as Car News China reports.

The brand announces a fuel consumption of 10.89 liters/100 kilometers (21.6 miles per gallon), so it is not exactly the most fuel-efficient vehicle out there.

JMK is working on three more versions of the Traveller: mountaineering, rainforest, and elite.
