It's summer, and just like their audience, many carmakers are enjoying their sweet vacations. However, the rumor mill never sleeps and also doesn't care about getting the right kind of seaside tan. And, sometimes, even an automaker enjoys giving it food for thought.
For example, Alfa Romeo recently teased the world premiere of something special – and although July is not even over, they want us to have enough time to discuss all possibilities before the official reveal takes place on August 30. Most likely, we are finally going to meet with the long-awaited sports car that is destined to follow in the footsteps of the 4C and 8C Competizione models without being a direct successor for any of them.

Naturally, the rumor mill ate this teaser whole and then swallowed it to the point of dreaming of it as a Maserati MC20 derivative with hybrid power under the hood and the potential to appease all Alfa Romeo fans with around 800 horsepower on tap. Now, Mercedes-Benz joins the fray with its initial teaser for something feisty and great-looking, too. However, they are putting it at the end of the spectrum this time. Well, time for the rumor mill to go berserk, yet again, in trying to decipher the hidden meaning of how the company's "new concept car redefines the Mercedes-Benz entry segment."

So, from now on, everything we say and dare think about this is pure speculation. Set to premiere at IAA Mobility 2023 – the transformed International Motor Show in Germany that will take place at Messe München between September 5 and 10 instead of Frankfurt – this show car will reveal MB's "vision for class-leading innovation, design, and digital experience" alongside EV introductions like the EQA, EQB, and EQV.

Since they speak of the entry segment, our thoughts go to A-Class – especially since the current (W177) fourth generation is starting to grow a little long in the tooth after it was launched in 2018. Now, five years later, maybe it's time for a preview of the fifth iteration that could then arrive sometime in 2024 or 2025. As such, our first guess revolves around the option of a Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan concept.

Of course, Mercedes-Benz could prepare a surprise for us – maybe a feisty A-Class Coupe to fight the likes of BMW's 2 Series Coupe would be in order, too. Anyway, it won't be long before all mysteries clear away, as the premiere is set for early September at the Mercedes-Benz Pavilion on the Apothekenhof of the Munich Residence. That is not the only new Mercedes-Benz, though, and the company has revealed there is at least another world premiere – the W214-based all-new E-Class All-Terrain station wagon that is devised as the perfect way to bridge the gap between luxury executive cars and multi-purpose crossover vehicles.
