The new Dacia Logan is here, having been revealed at the Paris Motor Show, where we recently got to check out all the new features and the stronger styling language.
On paper, there’s nothing to get excited about but really, it’s just the car that many families struggling in the European economy were looking for. If the question on your mind is “how low can I go?” than the Logan is a car you need to discover, and we’ll facilitate this for you with the very first videos of the new generation.
For marketing executives who earn six figures or more, it might look like the second family car for western buyers. But really, with the way the market is plummeting, it might just be the only brand new car some people can afford right now.
The first video we’re showing you is a commercial done to show the practical features of the car. The idea is that the New Logan has room for a family of five, can be equipped with parking sensors and a very practical infotainment display.
“Smoother lines for the family sedan. Gaining the new styling identity of the Dacia brand, the exterior design of New Logan is more dynamic, with a more flowing form at the front. The new styling approach is most apparent in the grille and headlights, featuring a more emphatic design common to all three of the new models. The rear further underscores Logan's robust nature with new lights and a design that showcases the spaciousness of the vehicle. The styling upgrade gives New Logan a harmonious look and an extra dose of elegance,” Dacia says.
The second video of the new Dacia Logan we’re about to show you was taken during the official photo shoot with the car that preceded the Paris Motor Show debut.
The new Romanian-built sedan will be available with a completely new engine, the three-cylinder turbocharged TCe 90 that displaces only 898cc and delivers CO2 emissions below 120 g/km. It delivers 66 kW (90 hp) at 5,250 rpm and generates 135 Nm from low engine speeds (90% from 1,650 rpm). Also available with the Logan 2 will be offered with the 1.2 16v 75, a 1.2-liter Euro 5 motor with 55 kW (75 hp) that will also come as an LPG variant. This will be the engine for the cheapest model you can buy.
As a diesel, you can have it with either the dCi 75 and 90 versions of the 1.5-liter Renault turbodiesel.
