Yes indeed ladies and gentlemen, Bentley Motors has revealed a brand new video called “The New Sound of Bentley”, and it’s obviously a teaser for the new Audi co-developed V8 that will arrive at the beginning of 2012, which translates to an early January reveal at the Detroit Motor Show.
The V8 engine that is co-developed by Audi and Bentley displaces 4.0-liters and will power the facelifted Continental GT. However, it will also be used in a number of go-faster Audis, in different stages of tune. As you’d expect from something developed under the VW Group umbrella, it will focus on improving efficiency and lowering weight (something the Continental GT suffers from).
The unit will offer a 40 percent reduction in C02 emissions, compared to the W12 engine used by the Continental GT. In the Bentley vehicle, the engine will send its power to the road via a 40:60 rear-biased all-wheel-drive system.
