Opel has the Astra GTC, Volkswagen has the Scirocco and now Kia has it’s very own hatchback-based coupe with flared wheelarches and improved design. It’s called the Pro_Cee’d, a name familiar to fans of the previous generation.
The new Pro_Cee’d is based on the same platform as the 5-door Cee’d and the Hyundai i30. It also has familiar styling, though many of the body panels you see are brand new. The design is especially unique and sporty round the rear pillar an the arches.

The model will be on display at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and should go on sale in Europe in the first half of 2013. The engine range will be made up of the same CRDI and GDi 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter units, with outputs from 90 to 135 hp, but there will soon also be a hot version with a 1.6 turbo T-GDI and 183 hp.

autoevolution will be attending the Paris Motor Show 2012, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
