The custom 2014 Ford Mustang that was used in the brand new “Need for Speed” movie will be auctioned for charity at a Barrett-Jackson event in West Palm Beach, Florida, on April 12.
The vehicle will be offered at no reserve and proceeds will benefit the Henry Ford Health System, a non-profit organization that provides health insurance and health-care delivery. The system was founded by Henry Ford himself in 1915.

“Mustang was cast in a leading role of the movie with screen time equal to many of the actors,” said Steve Ling, North America car marketing manager for Ford. “Director Scott Waugh challenged our team to give this central character enough personality and American masculinity to take on some of the world’s most exotic cars, just like in the popular Electronic Arts video game that inspired the movie.”

“The new owner of this particular Mustang will take home a rare vehicle, and their bid will increase access to critical health care services,” he added.

The “Need for Speed” movie car, which is actually unique, features a custom-designed wide body, exclusive Forgiato 22-inch alloy wheels, enlarged lower grille with new air intakes, and a twin-snorkel hood. Painted in a bespoke silver exterior, the musclecar also sports Kona Blue racing stripes and angel-eye fog lamps in the grille.

Scheduled to hit the big screen on March 14, the “Need for Speed” movie will also star the redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang, which will be driven by Braking Bad actor Aaron Paul. In case you missed it, the Blue Oval company has just released a TV commercial featuring the brand new pony.

Getting back to the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction, Ford will also use the event to showcase the 2015 F-150 pickup truck and to offer ride-and-drives in the 2014 Shelby GT500, 2014 Focus ST and 2014 Fiesta ST.
