NBC's Indecision Sends Top Gear USA to Cable

As if the audience problems with the Knight Rider weren't enough, NBC affords the luxury to play the Shakespearean Hamlet when it comes to Top Gear USA. To be or not to be, to pass on or not to pass on the famous American TV series. That's truly the question...

NBC's indecision “Thanks but no thanks” concerning the show has let room for competitors to show up. After they had boasted so much about Top Gear USA coming to NBC some months ago, it seems the U.S. version of the famous motoring show has been passed up by the channel, according to Top Gear USA's blog. Well, actually not quite passed up but silence is also an answer since you're staying arms crossed and doing nothing about the program for that long.

Therefore, other channels might be more eager to have it so BBC has managed to take the show “back” and decided to take it to cable, where “presenters' funny mouths, from which often spill foul words, will be more at home.”  In fact, BBC is supposed at the moment to actively pursue a cable network to air the series. So, fans should have no worries for Top Gear USA is not a motoring show to really have the door closed in front of its nose.

Speaking about fans, it's difficult not to wonder what made NBC to say a polite “No” to the well-known TV Series? Could it be the ardent problems with the audience for the Knight Rider? Or would it be the fact that welcoming Top Gear USA would lead to even more audience difficulties? Despite the fame of the show, perhaps it was a really smart move from NBC as there might actually be more Americans willing to see the UK original instead...
