Barn finds typically serve as a second chance for an abandoned car, especially after sitting for decades away from humanity and public roads.
However, not all barn finds come with good news, as they sometimes bring back rusty piles of metal that require a horrendous amount of work to get back on their wheels.

The Cadillac that you see in the photos is one of the most solid barn finds I've seen lately, though it also comes with mysterious tidbits that'll require additional detective work and an in-person inspection to tell if it deserves a second chance.

The owner doesn't even reveal the Cadillac model, but based on the VIN code (59K031087), it's a 62 Series – I believe the letter K indicates the 62 Series, but the comment box is all yours, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

The vehicle has been sitting for a while, and eBay seller joderickso1 says the car ended up in storage in the early '90s. They didn't reveal the reason for putting the car in hiding, but they claim the Cadillac spent its entire life with the same family since rolling off the assembly lines and waving goodbye to the dealer.

The owner claims the Cadillac is all-original, but you should have this inspected if you're committed to a purchase. Vehicles that spend decades in storage sometimes serve as donors for other projects, and owners end up installing other parts when trying to bring them back to the road. However, this isn't seemingly the case with this Cadillac, as nobody touched this Cadillac – it makes sense, given the car was owned by the same family since new.

Still wearing the original paint, the Cadillac comes with the factory engine under the hood. Cadillac offered the 62 Series with a 390 (6.4-liter) paired with a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The engine no longer starts, but the seller claims it turns over by hand "very strongly". It's good news, as an engine not yet seized means the car could return to the road with the original mill.

As anyone would expect, this Cadillac doesn't sell for pocket money, as the owner believes the car is worth around $23k. I wouldn't go that high, but a 1959 Cadillac in good shape and still wearing everything original should be worth around $15k if the factory engine is in good shape. The good news is the owner also enabled the Make Offer option on eBay, so you should be able to discuss the selling price if you're interested in the car.

The Caddy is parked in Yucaipa, California, and considering 22 people are already watching the listing, I don't expect the car to remain available for too long, as family-owned 62 Series with everything original are very rare today.
