MotoMorphic JaFM Custom Motorcycle Uses Rotax Engine

Described by its creators as “ the most radical yet rideable motorcycle,” the JaFM comes to our attention as a custom motorcycle that uses different forms of inspiration: streetfighters, a fat tire, American muscle cars, and fighter planes.

The JaFM comes from California-based custom bike shop MotoMorphic, who has started working on it from Avon’s Venom tires (200 and 250), who were initially aimed to be rear wheels on custom choppers.

“There are a few idiosyncrasies with the JaFM,” MotoMorphic were quoted by BikeExif, “but nothing that precludes the enjoyment of the ride. Due to the wide nature of the front tire, the JaFM tends to stand up under front trail braking. It can easily be compensated for, and trail braking should be exercised with caution on any motorcycle.”

Powering the JaFM is a Rotax V990 60 degree V-twin, 998 cc, dual counterbalanced, four valves per cylinder, dual overhead cam per cylinder, dry sump, 6 speed integrated transmission with a slipper clutch.

The company would not disclose any performance figures, but they say it goes “fast enough”, so we’ll have to settle with that for the moment. What we do now, however, is that the power units develops 110hp and 70 lb.ft. (95 Nm) of torque. The bike tips the scales at 550 lbs (250kg) with 7 gallons of gas.

“Along with the massive visual impact of the MotoMorphic JaFM, there is a balance and congruity to the overall design. Overall, the bike functions exceptionally well, as a radical yet eminently rideable motorcycle that makes an undeniable statement about its owner and his/her individuality,”
MotoMorphic adds.

We’ll end this story by telling you the base price for the JaFM is $100,000.
