Moto Guzzi Diamante by Fillippo Barbacane

A different approach to Moto Guzzi’s 8V dubbed Diamante has been introduced by Fillippo Barbacane at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona. The Diamond Guzzi got its name from the faceted bodywork, which also serves to channel air around the cylinder heads to partially accommodate the increased cooling made necessary by the 1420cc capacity and a maximum 140bhp output.

The bike, fitted with the single-sided front end from a Gilera CX125 and wearing bespoke bodywork, will be produced in a limited number of thirty, solomoto30.com reports. Fillippo made no concessions of any kind, therefore is hard to guess what the base model was.

Moreover, the gas tank has been repositioned under the custom subframe, having a huge airbox with a top-mounted intake take its place.

The rear brakes remained intact, while a disk of 320 mm with a bloated 4-piston caliper has been placed at the front. Furthermore, the new white wheels matching the fuel tank’s color scheme complete the Diamante look.

However, only by seeing the original Griso 8V you’ll be able to fully appreciate what Barbacane has done with the bike. Moto Guzzi's Griso came to life as an improbable concept that turned to reality thanks to the pressure put by potential customers.

The original powerplant on a Griso is a 1,151cc, air-cooled V-twin engine that produces 110 horsepower and 79.7 ft-lbs of torque. The 489-pound dry weight might sound like a bit handful to some, but in its segment it’s considered feather light.
