It seems like the possibilities are endless when it comes to the BMW-Toyota joint-venture. A while back we reported that the result of the two giants' collaboration might be dubbed Z5, a hybrid sports car.
Now, according to CAR Magazine, BMW might get a Z4 replacement out of the deal, as well as a new M6 that would boost the sales and bring back the visceral feeling their customers have been accustomed to.

The same magazine claims that the project might be in trouble as both parts want more out of the deal than they are currently getting. Norbert Reithofer, BMW's chairman, has been fascinated with halo cars for quite a while, bringing the i8 to the world, and avoiding the subject of a possible M8, for the company's 100th anniversary.

Toyota, on the other side, wants to get more info from the BMW know-how and wants to head the development of the future sports car, a thing that could leave the M engineering muttering. The thing is, as comfortable as M cars are these days, they just don't do the trick anymore, and a change might be just what was needed.

Either way, until something really comes along from this collaboration, no matter in which direction, be it a sports car, a hybrid one or a blend of the two, speculations will keep on coming. Let's hope the two companies hear us out.
