Quoting various publications, the guys from focus.de are bringing the rumored BMW-Toyota sports car back into the world's attention. It seems like new info and a new name for the car are surfacing the web.
According to Auto Bild, on the German side of the pond, the new car could be called Z5 and it would be a worthy replacement for the aging and slow-selling Z4. Thanks to the joint-venture with the Japanese, the new car will benefit from their hybrid expertise.

The new car is rumored to follow in recent BMW developments and use the eDrive system as well, as they did on the Concept5 X5 eDrive model. This way, the CO2 emissions will be lowered while the power output is increased.

As for exact numbers, nothing is certain yet. The 2 cars will probably have over 300 HP, acceding to The Journal, reaching a maximum of around 370 HP. Another interesting detail is that the Bimmer will be a Roadster whilst the Toyota will be a Coupe model, in classical Supra style.

Furthermore, we now even have a pricing ballpark. It seems like they will be priced between EUR30,000 and EUR50,000 and that is definitely affordable. For any of these rumors to be confirmed, we'll just have to wait and see, but we sure are excited!
