Back in December 2012, BMW was ranked 3rd in the ADAC AutomarxX Top. Now, just 6 months later, things changed dramatically. BMW claimed the number one spot once again, leaving Audi and Mercedes behind, to pick up the crumbles.
The respected authority in the automotive field, claimed that BMW recently grew significantly in both vehicle security and viability, according to their tests and surveys. This set Mercedes back, on the third place, behind Audi, after being ranked first in 2012.
Toyota, on the other hand, suffered a bit more. The Japanese manufacturer didn't even make the top 10, after struggling with safety issues. One surprising leap was done by Jaguar, mostly due to its more environment-friendly approach, climbing to the number 8 spot from the 23rd.
The ADAC ratings have been around since 2001, making them relevant for the German and European markets. They measure the public's perception of various brands, based on individual criteria like brand image, market strength, customer satisfaction, product strength, environmental performance and safety features.
