Chrysler has announced that Mopar will feature its new Custom Shop at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show next week. The company’s latest addition to the Mopar Garage will become Mopar’s largest exhibit to date with a 5,500-square-foot display that will include the new Augmented Reality Customization Application.
Specifically, NAIAS visitors will be able to virtually customize a Ram 1500 pickup truck using iPad tablets that were pre-programmed by Mopar with an augmented reality application. Consumers can use the app to add factory installed parts and accessories that are available via the Mopar Custom Shop.
Mopar will also be using the exhibit to showcase a variety of customized models, such as the Mopar ’14 Dodge Challenger, SRT Viper, Fiat 500L Thalassa, Jeep Wrangler Recon, Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver and the Ram 3500 Dually CASE Work Truck.
“At this year’s show, we are proud to feature our new Mopar Custom Shop’s ability to give consumers the opportunity to personalize their new vehicle during the purchase process for a ‘your vehicle, your way’ experience with their Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat dealership,” said Pietro Gorlier, president and CEO of Mopar. “This is a great addition to the Mopar Garage, which we introduced last year as a display to give consumers a look at how to customize their current vehicles with an incredible selection of aftermarket quality Mopar parts and accessories.”
