MINI Saville Row Is Black in Japan

The German car brand has launched a new, limited edition model, named after a shopping street in Mayfair, central London, famous for its traditional men's bespoke tailoring. According to the manufacturer, the all-black 2010 Mini Saville Row is designed exclusively for the Japanese market.

The new Mini Saville Row special edition will be available in a Midnight Black finish with tinted windows, creating a feeling of an unique, all around design.

Featuring a black roof, the Savile Row's visual appearance is enhanced by polished chrome 17-inch wheels, a chrome gas filler cap, chrome mirrors, chrome trim inside and outside the car, and many other chromed parts.

The MINI Saville Row will also feature a privacy glass Bi-xenon headlights, white turn signal indicator, and a Saville Row logo. Inside, this special and limited edition features a piano-black trim, a chrome instrument bezel and an unusual anthracite headliner.

Under the hood, the special MINI comes equipped with the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that will drive the front-wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.

The all-black painted model will be built in a limited edition of 100 units with a suggested retail price of 3,100,000 JPY (around $35,000 at the current exchange rates). That's a premium of about 400,000 JPY ($4,519 U.S.) over the standard MINI.

Unfortunately, the all-black Saville Row comes available for the Japanese market only, with no sales scheduled for the U.S., bmwblog.com reports.

However, BMW has also prepared a special edition for the Japanese gentlemen, bringing the X6 Performance Unlimited to the local market. As we previously reported, the car is based on the X6 xDrive35i petrol version of the car, with only 20 units scheduled to be built.
