Japanese MINI enthusiasts are in for a treat! After the UK branch announced the new Cooper T model and the Germans will get the MINI Paceman GoalCooper, the Asian market will receive the best of all special-edition models.
Seeing as a lot of people complained that the new models are getting bigger and bigger by the generation and the core values of the brand are being left out while the modern commodities take up a lot of space pushing the envelope higher and higher, a solution was needed.
Apparently, one Japanese engineer thought ‘Why not both?’ and that’s how the Classic MINI button was created.What is it? It’s a digital button (of course) showing up on the MINI Connected Drive screen that allows you to transform your 2014 MINI Cooper S into a classic Mini.
At first, we though this would bend the laws of physics but apparently, it’s very possible as the video below clearly shows. The whole process takes just 32 seconds and you’ll end up with a classic Mini exterior and all the modern amenities inside. You can’t really beat that, now can you?
The bad news is that this version is only available today, April 1 and only in Japan. We hope you get there in time to order one!
