The German car manufacturer has launched an extensive campaign today on the new “Intelligent Drive” connected safety and driver assistance systems, with the print ads featuring none other than Michael Schumacher.
“I am delighted about this partnership with Mercedes-Benz and I'm looking forward immensely to helping shape the future of automotive safety together with the inventor of the automobile. This is a pioneering and exciting task of our partnership. One can’t emphasize the usefulness of assistance systems often enough. They help and relieve the driver and lead to safer motoring. During my Formula 1 years I frequently appreciated the benefits of being able to rely on all the available technologies on board." says Michael Schumacher, who apart from his role as ambassador for the Intelligent Drive systems will also be involved in the further development of the safety technologies with Mercedes-Benz.

In essence, Intelligent Drive represents an array of cameras, sensors and safety technologies which interact with each other to make Mercedes-Benz cars safer and more comfortable.

The facelifted E-Class family of models and the new W222 S-Class both already feature Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive, including safety features such as the Stop&Go Pilot, which allows semi-autonomous driving. The S 500 Intelligent Drive concept car provides an insight of things to come in the following years on three-pointed star wearing models using the technology.
