The X-Class is nothing more than a Mercedes version of a Nissan truck. It doesn't have the amazing suspension of the GLE or the racing technology of the GT R, but we still think it's on par with other smalle trucks that are sold in Europe, like the Amarok or the Ranger.
That means it will inevitably receive many rugged transformations over the years, and even though this one is digital, it's not like we come across tracked vehicles every day.

The Dacia Duster has already been modified to carry four of these universal tracks that replace wheels. And perhaps being upset that a humble Romanian crossover got there first, Aksyonov Nikita decided to take it upon himself and give his rugged touch (that sounds so weird).

He first "bolted on" a body kit consisting of fender flares and a protective bull bar, equipped with towing equipment. This isn't exactly new, as there's a company called Pickup Design which can sell you a tougher X-Class, even one with a hood scoop and accessory lights.

But what sets this rendering apart from the real deal are the tracks. Now, we've never installed anything like that, so we're no experts. But the tracks at the front seem like they'd stop the pickup from taking corners.

But maybe it can be retrofitted with a tank steering system.
You know... the kind that reverses drives one side in reverse and the other forwards to pivot. Something like that would probably tear the suspension off here, but it's a nice thought.

Considering it's a pickup made by the most iconic luxury brand in the world, we're pretty sure that by next spring, somebody will build a tracked X-Class for his ski adventure. But when he/she does, tell him that it's been done already, at least in Photoshop.
