German automaker Mercedes-Benz is planning to launch a station wagon version of its brand new CLA compact car in 2015, sources inside the Stuttgart-based company told Automotive News.
The new model will be introduced with the CLA Shooting Brake name and will become the fifth three-point star-badged vehicle to use the Mercedes’ compact front-wheel drive platform, joining the A-Class, B-Class, CLA sedan and the GLA crossover.
Whether the CLA Shooting Brake will be sold in the United States or not is still unknown. At the same time, the source said Mercedes-Benz is not considering a convertible variant of the CLA.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA sedan was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January, while its European debut took place at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
