After 2013 brought the “number one luxury car maker” title back to MB USA, with Mercedes-Benz managing to snatch it back from BMW, it seems that 2014 is also starting with the right foot for the three-pointed star in the land of the free.
With no less than 24,413 units across the Mercedes-Benz, smart and Sprinter model lines, they managed to increase their overall sales by 1.5 percent compared to January 2013.
“We knocked it out of the park last year and are moving into 2014 at a record sales pace,” said Steve Cannon, president and CEO of MBUSA. “The product milestones will continue this year with an all-new entry point on the SUV side in the form of the GLA, the next generation C-Class and standout additions to our high-end and high-performance lineups.”
Oddly-enough, the best sold Mercedes-Benz model in January 2014 continued to be the C-Class W204, despite the fact that the W205 generation has already been unveiled at the North American International Auto Show.
Mercedes-AMG managed to sell no less than 846 cars in January, which represents a rather impressive 70.9 percent increase compared with the same period from 2013.
