In recent years, the United Kingdom has become known for two major reasons on the Internet: they have the largest number of scientists per capita and they sure love to give out awards.
We say this because lately there has been an abundance of reports that usually start with “A British Study has found...” or “John Smith is awarded with...”.

The latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class, for example, is probably the most awarded product of any kind in the UK this year, with the German luxury car having received more prizes and awarded that we can count in the first five months of 2014.

The model's latest victory is having been recently voted as “Best Executive Car” in the 2014 Diesel Car, Car of the Year Awards.

Getting past the not-at-all-shocking notion that the British have a car magazine that goes by the name of “Diesel Car”, we are more interested in the fact that the S-Class is almost universally loved by car testers around the world, confirming once again why is the best sold luxury sedan on the planet.

“It’s the kind of car that you'll want to drive yourself, thanks to alert steering, great composure through the bends, enormous grip and an impressively supple ride.” said Ian Robertson, Editor and Publisher of Diesel Car Magazine upon announcing the Award.

According to the registration figures issued by the UK Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class remains the most popular luxury car in the United Kingdom, which is not very surprising as the model's sales form seems to be the same in pretty much every market.
