Although it's technically more of a crossbreed between a W212 E-Class platform and a W204 C-Class, the E-Class Coupe and Convertible are still part of the E-Class family in the Mercedes-Benz range.

It didn't susprise anyone when they all the E-Class variants had a mid-life facelift then, sharing a lot of both design and technical features in what is probably the most expensive refresh in automotive history.

Part of the refresh is the addition of a number of innovations taken straight out of the S-Class flagship, with the most important (and impressive) one being the Distronic Plus with Steering Assist, which can pretty much make the car drive autonomously.

That feature isn't talked about in the following video review though, as the spotlight seems to stay mainly on the 4.7-liter (Mercedes-Benz calls it a 4.6-liter, though it has 4,663 cc) twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which delivers 401 Imperial hp (408 metric hp) and a massive 600 Nm (442.5 lb ft) of torque.

With a 4.9 seconds time from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), this is the fastest Mercedes-Benz convertible with four seats that doesn't wear an AMG badge. Take a look at the impressions it left on the TFLC guys in the video review below.
